Woman Sends Ex-Husband to Jail for Banned Currency!

Every day a new struggle story of demonetization is coming up. Now comes the turn of a husband to face the impact of demonetization. A man who had to pay the remittance of Rs. 2.25 lakh to his ex-wife was sent behind the bars for not paying the same for four years.

Brother of this man has finally arranged the money to be paid to the woman this month. He tried to submit the money to court asking for the freedom of his brother. But the court rejected to consider the remittance as it was a bundle of 1000 and 500 notes which were banned.

The irony is that the ex-wife not only rejected to accept the banned currency (Why would she) but also rejected to take the money in the form of a cheque or a demand draft. Now the husband is stuck behind the bars due to the demonetization issue.
