Young writers denied place in ‘T’ textbooks

The state government had finalized the revision of Telangana syllabus which will be effective from this academic year. However the government had decided to only include the works of only those who are aged above 80 years in the school textbooks which hurt the contemporary Telangana writers and poets.

These young writers and poets played a crucial role in the separate state agitation and expected to get recognition under the new government. But the state government took the decision not to include them. They feel betrayed the government as most of the old works lack Telangana dialect.

They say they hoped to reflect Telangana struggle and Telangana dialect with their works but they now feel they are being ignored even after Telangana has been formed. But government defends its decision by saying that every one will get a chance at appropriate time.
