What Is Jagan Trying to Bluff?

Jagan Mohan Reddy the other day toured the villages submerging due to Polavaram Project demanded higher compensation for the land losing farmers. Jagan went on to demand 20 Lakhs compensation for the land losing farmers and promised to give them the package when he comes to power, as usually displayed his longing for power yet again.

In the occasion, Jagan made some interesting comments which are intended only to cheat the affected people. Jagan went on to allege that Polavaram Project Concessionaire is a binami company of Chandrababu Naidu and the Chief Minister is trying to help the company as much as possible. But the fact is that the company was given the contract during his father’s regime.

The terms of the contract are written in such a way that the company had to be given a huge compensation about 25% of the project cost, if the contract is cancelled. This stern conditions are also the great work of his father, YSR. More over, the compensation package to the farmers was also decided by YSR government and they used to call it as the best compensation package in the country.

Farmers have agreed for that and even signed the agreements with the government. But since the project is delayed, the government did not take over the lands. Farmers are expecting compensation package to be increased as per current Market rates. The state government is not legally bound to increase the compensation but can only consider it on humanitarian grounds. CM Chandrababu Naidu also agreed to consider that but it is a central issue now because Polavaram is a National Project. But Jagan do not speak a word about central role in his tour, revealing his hollowness about the issue.
