YSR Congress Eyeing Central Jail Lands For Party Office

YSR Congress is eyeing Rajamahendravaram Central Jail lands. The government already took 12.7 acres of land to a medical college.

Now, the party is eyeing another two acres for the construction of its office.

District President and Rajanagaram MLA Jakkampudi Raja is pressurizing the jail superintendent to give the lands.

The Superintendent already refused the formal proposal.

The jail which is of British times has 170 acres of land in which there are central jail, open jail, a women’s jail, a DIG office, quarters, and petrol bunks.

In the land given for the college, the DIG office and quarters which were recently constructed are going to be razed down.

According to the Supreme Court guidelines, there should not be any construction within 150 meters radius of the central jail.

The jail authorities are trying to stall the proposal using this but the ruling party is adamant because this land is worth several crores.
