YCP MLC Entangled in Body Door Delivery Case

There is movement in the case involving YSRCP MLC Anantababu in the murder of dalit driver Subramanyam and door delivering of his body.

Lawyer and civil rights activist from Rajamahendravaram, Muppalla Subbarao has been appointed as the special judge by the government to look into the matter.

Subramanyam was murdered in 2022 on May 19. The then SP had said that Ananta Udayabhaskar (Anantababu) had confessed to killing of his ex driver Subramanyam. Post that, Anantababu was sent to jail.

However, as he represented the party in power at that time, some police officials worked to make the case weak. In this scenario, Anantababu got intermittent bail and has been roaming free for the past two years.

The poor parents of Subramanyam are fighting for justice for the past three years. It is said that more people were involved in the murder, apart from Anantababu.

The doubts increased as the police did not divulge the list of people Subramanyam spoke with around the time of his death. The police did not show who were present at the time of Subramanyam’s death. Google Takeout, tower location and CCTV footage were also not disclosed. Also, they did not interrogate the MLC’s gunmen properly.

The Court dismissed the chargesheet filed by the police after 88 days due to lack of proper details. Another chargesheet was filed on April 14, 2023. There are allegations that the delay in filing chargesheets was to ensure the culprit got the bail. The then SP and DSP supported the culprit, feel Subramanyam’s parents.

Cut to present, various dalit organisations are requesting the case to be given to a special investigation team (SIT).
