Lord Venkateswara’s Placards, YCP Crosses Line

One mistake after the other, YSRCP seems to be losing out when it comes to rational behaviour. Already, the adulterated ghee case in Tirumala rocked the country. Devotees of Kaliyuga God Venkateswara Swany haven’t recovered from the shock.

Even before the wounds were healed, the party created another drama. On Friday, the YSRCP MLCs entered the Legislative Council with placards bearing the picture of Lord Venkateswara. Worse still, the members threw the placards callously in the well of the House and walked away.

Jana Sena leader and Minister Kandula Durgesh held a press conference to condemn the act. When someone does it once, it could be a mistake. But if they repeat it, it means they did it with intention. The Minister said that it was wrong to bring placards having God pictures into the House.

He demanded that the YSRCP chief Jagan must say sorry for his members’ behaviour. The Jana Sena leader said that this act was a clear sign of religious intolerance.

To ensure neutrality, bringing pictures into either of the Houses is considered anti-secular. Are Jagan and his legislators really unaware of the decorum? Lord Venkateswara is considered God of Kalyuga. Already the sentiments of Telugu people and Indian Hindus are hurt. Is Jagan and his coterie unaware of it?

It’s now time for the Andhra Pradesh citizens to question YSRCP for their deeds. India is a secular country that respects all religions and faiths. Right to Freedom of Religion comes under Article 25 to 28 of Indian Constitution.

Having the right to choose one’s religion does not give anyone the right to shame another religion. The basis is respect and not religious arrogance.

Jagan and his party must imbibe it before they rake mud on the ruling party for using God to influence Andhra citizens.
