YSRCP Still Undecided on Parchur!!

The leadership of the party is grappling with the issue of selecting the YSRCP in-charge for the Parchur Assembly constituency in Prakasam district.

After holding talks with the current in-charge, Amanchi Krishnamohan, on Monday, the top leaders met with Darshi MLA Maddishetty Venugopal and businessman Ravi Shankar from Ongole on Tuesday.

In light of the information that Amanchi, the current in-charge of Parchur, is unwilling to contest from there, the administration is considering a replacement despite facing strong opposition from within the party ranks.

On Monday, the Chief Minister also spoke to Amanchi, along with the chief leaders of the administration.

However, as efforts continued on Tuesday to find an alternative candidate, the belief that Amanchi would be removed from Parchur and would not contest strengthened among the party ranks.

YSRCP’s strategy is to field a candidate from the Kapu community in the Parchur constituency, which has a majority of Kamma community voters.

This is why the Kapu community is considering candidates such as Gottipati Bharat, who has expressed his willingness to contest with the Chief Minister’s support, and another former in-charge, Ramanathambabu, who is ready to contest.

Darshi MLA Maddishetti Venugopal was removed from his sitting position, and former MLA Buchepalli Sivaprasada Reddy was given a chance. Dissatisfied with this decision, Maddisetty was previously asked to contest from Parchur, but he refused.

It was learned that the leaders and officials from the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO), already engaged in work related to Wednesday’s assembly meetings and the cabinet meeting, suggested that Maddishetti should come on Thursday instead of Wednesday evening, as he reached there late.

As mentioned earlier, there have been suggestions to reconsider the issue of contesting from Parchur.

However, Amanchi Krishnamohan, who met the Chief Minister on Monday, is believed to have reiterated his demand to give a chance to someone other than MLA Balaram or his son Venkatesh.

Therefore, these efforts on Tuesday are believed to have been made with the Chief Minister’s orders to look for an alternative candidate instead of pursuing Amanchi in the case of Parchur.
