YSRCP’s Misleading PR Campaign In Name Of Tesla!

Elon Musk is visiting India very soon to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Musk himself revealed that on X without a date.

Last month, India cut import taxes on electric vehicles (EV) for global carmakers which commit to investing $500m (£399m) and starting local production within three years.

Tesla is going to invest in India after the move. In 2021, Elon Musk cited India’s high import duties as the reason for the firm not launching its cars in the world’s fastest-growing major economy.

Business Circles says the meeting is likely to happen towards the end of this month.

There is no clarity yet about the India plans for Tesla. The details may emerge after Musk – Modi’s meeting.

Some enthusiastic states already started preparations to attract Tesla.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is doing a Bus tour ahead of the election meeting. He has not had any review meetings so far regarding Tesla.

Andhra Pradesh Government gave a Press release saying that they sent an invite to Tesla to invest in the state.

YSR Congress Social Media released a poster with the big title ‘Andhra Pradesh Ku Tesla’ creating an impression as if the American Giant agreed to invest in the state.

Like those misleading advertisements, having Flat 90% Off and Conditions Fineprint in smaller letters, on the bottom of the posters, it is written an invitation has been sent to Tesla.

An invitation even at this stage makes no sense. First, the plans of Musk have to be revealed. Next, the concerned departments will analyze how important or suitable is that investment. They will have a series of meetings to put forward some attractive proposals to the company.

These proposals will include Land for free/concessional rate, power and water at lower prices, Tax breaks, and many others.

An invitation with such proposals will only make sense. What YSR Congress is now doing is nothing but a PR campaign.
