Magunta is in neck-deep trouble with the allegations in Delhi Liquor Scam.
His own son has been arrested in the case and he is also named in the case. Now, Jagan wants to change the candidate for 2024 and is considering Subbareddy’s son Vikranth Reddy. In fact, Jagan’s first choice was Subbareddy but the latter is not interested in electoral politics going forward.
Vikranth Reddy’s candidature is yet to be announced and there is dissent in the party already.
But this decision has upset Magunta and Balineni Srinivasa Reddy. Speaking to a Newspaper, Balineni confirmed that Magunta will contest for Ongole parliament and himself for Ongole assembly and there will be no change in it.
Balineni and YV Subbareddy do not see eye to eye. But then, in recent times, things are not well for Balineni in the party and so, we will have to see if his word will prevail.
Magunta was the TDP MLC between 2014 and 2019. He ditched the party just before the elections and joined YSR Congress to get the Ongole MP ticket. His money-might helped the party a lot in the Ongole district.
