What is “Bheemavaram Bullodu” about?
Bheemavaram Bullodu is the story of Rambabu (Sunil) who falls in love with Nandini (Esther). Her father is against the marriage as one would expect. How hero wins over the family and heroine is what the film is all about.

How is Sunil’s performance?
Its good to see Sunil on screen doing comedy but even he can’t save the poorly written material at hand. Few scenes do remind us of the comedian Sunil we are missing in many films these days. As far as hero Sunil goes, he is pretty flat and doesn’t impress.

What aboutu Uday Shankar’s direction?
Director Uday Shankar has a old story at hand and he comes up with an even outdated and predictable screenplay that is flat out uninteresting. First half of the film is better comparatively but that’s not saying much as the second half of the film is an absolute disaster. He has so much comic talent at his disposal but fails to get even the comedy aspect right.

Other artists performance?
This is a very predicable and walk in the park kind of role for heroine. And Esther makes absolutely no effort to hide it. She is pretty ordinary. Once hero and heroine are out of the radar the film is full of well known faces like Supreet, Posani Krishnamurali, Prudhvi, Sayaji Shinde, Jayaprakash Reddy, Srinivas Reddy etc but none of them manage to make a mark as they have been given poor dialogues and clichéd sequences to deal with. The blind man track involving therefore stands out amidst all the bad out there.

How is Music, Songs and other departments?
Anup Rubens is generally bankable but here he seems to be off form. All the songs feel like recycled versions of his earlier songs and the background score too is lackluster. Cinematography is inconsistent. Editing is alright. Choreography of songs give an outdated feeling.

Highlights?
Few comedy sequences.

Drawbacks?
Story.
Screenplay.
Direction.

What about the box office performance of the film?
Thanks to the holiday on the opening day, the film has got decent to good openings. But going forward the film would find it very hard to sustain. With multiple releases ahead the film is sure to emerge as another disappointment for Sunil as a solo hero.

Did I enjoy it?
No.

Will you recommend it?
No.
