What is the film Dwaraka about?
Erra Seenu (Vijay Devarakonda) turns into a God-like personality Krishnanda Swamy overnight. How it is connected to a girl and what happens when he falls in lover with her is what the film is all about.

How is Vijay Devarakonda‘s performance?
Vijay Devarakonda is good in the role but it once again is slotted into the sameness of his previous film. Apart from that familiarity, the performance overall has been good. There is an emotional scene or two and it is done nicely.

Direction By Srinivas Ravindra?
Srinivas Ravindra had a decent plot on hand that involves fake God-man and religious stuff. It is old but is not a beaten to death kind of thing which means it could be presented in a different and fresh way. However, the director falters by taking a predictable love angle which makes things even more predictable.

The beginning is all over the place but it soon settles down neatly. Things process well before the love track forms the speed breaker. The interval portion looks decent. Things get predictable in the second half and the climax feels like a letdown after all the buildup. There are some bits involving atheist character but even that loses momentum towards the end. Overall the love track bogs down the proceedings and makes it a difficult one-time watch sort of film.

Pooja Jhaveri and others?
Pooja Jhaveri is okay in a role that looks forced into the narrative rather than smoothly blended in. Prudhvi is good in a different sort of role than usual. Sai and Sudarshan as hero’s friends are alright. They have few moments but nothing impactful on the whole. Prabhakar is fine. Raghu Babu does his usual but with a different accent.

Music and other departments?
Sai Kartheek music is alright. There is a decent melody number but it is placed badly. The background score is alright. Shyam K Naidu’s cinematography is okay. Editing should have been better. Dialogues by Lakshmi Bhupal are good in few places.

Highlights?
Basic story line
Vijay Devarakonda

Drawbacks?
Love track
Songs placement
Few comedy scenes

Alternative Take
The same basic plot could be made without having any love track as a thriller. That would have been far more effective narrative.

Did I enjoy it?
Yes, very few parts

Will you recommend it?
Yes, with huge reservations
