What is the film about?
A common man suing God for his loss.

How is Venkatesh’s performance?
Venkatesh is the lifeline of the movie if one looks at it character wise. He is the one driving the film. Venkatesh makes use of all his trademarks, be it comedy or emotion, to good effect. His inherent satirical tone is a great plus to the movie as well as his performance in that character.

Pawan Kalyan and others?
Pawan Kalyan is magnificent. He truly personifies the character he plays and lifts the entire proceedings whenever he is on screen. His whole demeanor and conversations with Venkatesh are real highlights of the film. Mithun Chakravarthi had a crucial role in the film which could have further elevated the film but he is a total miscast in Telugu. The dubbing ruins his performance. Shriya has limited screen time and she is alright in whatever little she does. Posani Murali Krishna has another entertaining role to his credit. Others like Krishudu and Murali Sharma are decent but under utilized.

Direction By Kishore Pardasani?
Direction by Kishore Kumar Pardhasani is weak link in the film. The overall film lacks a narrative cohesiveness and thereby diffuses the power packed punch it could have landed. What we get instead is a film that is good in parts but overall drags with little emotional connect. First half is decent and moves quickly. Second half begins on a positive note and maintains energy till the pre-climax sequences where things hit a road bump. It is a heady ride till the climax from then on. Overall Dolly should have done far better with resources he had on hand.

Music and other departments?
Anup Rubens has disappointed with music barring a song but he almost makes up for it with the background score. Cinematography is patchy, it is good in parts. Editing is poor with lots of jerky and abrupt frames. Even the VFX’s have been done poorly. Dialogues are good and they play an important part in entertainment.

Alternative take:
The film has the content in place that makes for an engaging and entertaining drama. The problem is weak direction and lack of tighter narration. If one were to take care of those things, even ignoring the technical aspects again, the film would have been infinitely better.

How is it compared to original?
The star in both the original and remake have very little to do. The real star of the show was Paresh Rawal in original who lived and breathed life to the character with his unique body language and dialogue delivery. Venkatesh has tried his best but still to those who have seen the original, a feeling of lacking prevails.

Did I enjoy it?
Yes, in parts.

Will you recommend it?
Yes, to those who have not seen the original.
