Raja (Varun Tej) grows up thinking he has no mother. What happens when he finds he has one and how Mouni (Disha) is related to all this is what the film is about.
How is Varun Tej’s performance?
After playing calm going characters in his last two movies that relied on subtlety this time Varun Tej has gone for a makeover. He plays a typical Puri Jagannadh kind of character with all the regular mannerism in place. But it takes time for one to get used to it and with the rawness still intact one gets a feeling of little awkwardness at times. Also in this film his character misses the big punch dialogues that are usually seen with Puri’s hero’s, especially in comparison to two other characters. It brings the overall effect down a bit. His screen presence has definitely improved and it would benefit him a great deal in future for sure.
Direction by Puri Jagannadh is competent as usual but it’s the story and the screenplay that’s problem and goes haywire. Puri is still able to milk the maximum out of individual scenes or a block but when it comes to building an engaging and cohesive narrative flow, he has been failing big, sometimes even miserably. Most it has to do with the entertainment quotient which is getting borderline offensive. He continues with such entertainment with little progress in the story.
Things get a move, albeit for a short period in second half but soon it’s back to square one. Even the little entertainment present in the first half is missing here as director runs out of steam. Overall there are few sequences here and there that show promise but in a larger framework they aren’t enough.

Heroine Disha Patani has very little to do apart from look glamorous and sad at times. She does them reasonably well. But more than the heroine it’s the characters of father and mother played by Posani Murali Krishna and Revathy that are important in the film. Posani plays the character in his usual style the dialogues given to him make it seem better than it is. Revathi on the other hand is fabulous in whatever she is given. She excels in all the emotional scenes and provides emotional anchor for the film. Others like comic actors Dhanraj, Sapthagiri, Ali and Brahmanandam etc and villains Mukesh Rishi, Harish Uthaman etc are used in bits and pieces parts with no real impact.
Music by Sunil Kashyap is a not in the range of other Puri films. He compensates with the background score which is loud but syncs well in the movie. Cinematography is decent. Editing is okay. Choreography of couple of songs is good.

Drawbacks?
Predictable storyline
Hero and heroine track
Pre climax and climax
The film as it is an attempt at fresh upgrade to done to death storyline. Additional effort in building strong antagonist and a neat resolution in the end would make for a better alternative.
