What is the film Sarkar 3 about?
Just like the previous two parts, a businessman wants to do business in Mumbai that Sarkar doesn’t approve. What happens then is what the movie is all about?

How is Amitabh Bachchan’s performance?
The legendary actor delivers another towering performance. Since he has done the role two times already, he knows the character inside out, and it is visible in the performance. There is no false note. Some sequences, in fact, can be seen as a master class in acting to youngsters.

Direction By RGV?
This is one segment that is replaceable for all Ram Gopal Varma directorial’s. He is a master in extracting natural performances but the problem as always with him is the content, and that is what plagues Sarkar 3 too.

The pace of the film is too slow, and the few twists that come are very predictable. Mix these two what we get is a movie that is too slow with a predictable narrative and performances in the usual RGV style. The situation is such that at the interval point itself one feels like watching a full-length movie. The second half is no better, but it has few solidly plotted moments that manage to engage temporarily.

Overall the predictable twists and tepid narration make one bored to death by the time the movie comes to an end. Few interesting acting moments might be enough for the fans of the legendary star at this point, but that is not sufficient for an average moviegoer.

Yami Gautam and others?
The film is filled with good actors all over. Amit Sadh had a great chance to shine, and he does it partially. Yami Gautam has nothing to do in the movie. Manoj Bajpayee overplays it to the hilt in an enjoying sort of way. Ronit Roy is utilized well but Parag Tyagi not so much. Jackie Shroff overacts in a subtle way.

Music and other departments?
Music by Ravi Shankar and Rohan Vinayak is loud and so is the background score. The cinematography by Amol Rathod is excellent. Editing by Anwar Ali is alright.

Highlights?
Performances
Few solid acting moments

Drawbacks?
Weak story
Predictable twists
No strong villain

Alternative Take
A strong villain and a different problem than what we saw in the first two films would have given the third movie a new boost.

Did I enjoy it?
No

Will you recommend it?
No
