What is the film about?
Sultan is about a wrestler who loses the love of his life in un-relented quest for glory. What were those circumstances and how he gets redemption in the end if what the film is about?

How is Salman’s performance?
After Bajarangi Bhaijaan once again Salman, the actor, is in fine form. His character is similar to the one’s he has played in the past but there are small variations and more emotional scenes to pull off here than in the past. He pulls off all those scenes with aplomb. His scene especially in front of the mirror in second half is fabulous. While others are not as impressive still they are good. Overall this is another memorable outing for the actor. Sultan Movie Review Script Department

Direction By Ali Abbas? Sultan Movie Review Directorial Department
Direction by Ali is neat. He makes the best use of the gigantic stardom of Salman Khan. There are moments throughout that work around Salman’s image but they are shot in a very rooted and realistic way without going way over the top like we usually see in commercial masala entertainers.

The storyline is a very simple one and predictable in fact but the director has filled the narrative with moments that will bring a smile on the face. Pace of the film along with predictability is a problem and it can be felt more in the second half where the attention completely shifts to the sport. One knows the final outcome and the proceedings are predictable, this slows the film down lot than anticipated. Add a song in between, which is good and neatly shot, it further adds to the length.

Overall Sultan is effective because the star at the center of the whole proceedings is effective. He engages the audience right from the beginning and director deserves every credit for making that happen. This is the biggest success of the director.

Anushka Sharma and others?
Anushka Sharma is superb as usual and stands confidently and delivers a strong performance that doesn’t meek in the show of a star like Salman Khan. It is not a flower pot role that is used merely for songs, she leaves her mark. Amit Sadh is good in a supporting role. Randeep Hooda in a brief appearance is a scene stealer. Most of other actors are well suited for the roles they have been chosen to play. They all look the characters they are meant to. Sultan Movie Review Technical Analysis

Music and other departments?
Music by Vishal Shekar is good. The songs are neatly picturized even though they add to the length of the film. Background score by Julius Packiam is also fine as usual. Cinematography is splendid. Editing is alright. Action choreography is nice.
