100 Teams on Patrol: DCP on New YR Parties

DCP Vijay Kumar mentioned that for the December 31 New Year celebrations, there’s a special focus on dealing with drugs in the West Zone of the city. He stated that over 100 teams focused on tackling drug-related issues are operating in the West Zone. Anyone caught driving under the influence of drugs will face a fine of Rs. 10,000 and imprisonment. Moreover, criminal cases will be filed against those engaged in reckless driving and causing disturbances on the roads.

DCP Vijay Kumar of the West Zone highlighted the emphasis on tackling drug-related matters. Advanced technology drug detection devices will be used to catch drug users. For pubs, restaurants, and clubs, it’s advised that the management ensures arrangements for sober drivers. Additionally, the DCP stressed the importance of covering the event area with CCTV cameras.

DCP Vijay Kumar mentioned that the flyovers will be closed during the celebrations. He urged people to dial 100 in case of any inconvenience experienced during the New Year festivities.
