AP HC Questions Govt Over Secrecy Of G.O.s

Multiple petitions have recently surfaced in the Amaravati High Court, focusing on the confidentiality practices of GO’s. Advocates Umesh Chandra, Ambati Sudhakar, Balaji, and Srikanth brought attention before the Chief Justice’s bench, pressing for the petitions to be heard. The Chief Justice highlighted that a petition from 2021 is still under investigation. Umesh Chandra mentioned that a staggering 70 percent of the GO’s are not disclosed on the website.

The group of judges in the tribunal asked important questions about why certain information was being kept secret. They wondered if it was really necessary to hide this information. The lawyer representing the government promised the court that they would give all the necessary information about GO’s information available on the internet.

Consequently, the court scheduled a hearing for next Wednesday, accommodating the lawyers’ request for a prompt resolution of the petitions.
