This morning in Bengaluru, panic spread across more than 15 schools due to bomb threats received via email. This caused distress among school authorities, parents, and students. Among the affected schools was one located near Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar’s residence.
Initially, seven schools received these threats, but later, more schools reported similar intimidating emails. As a precaution, the police evacuated both staff and students from all the affected schools.
Similar bomb threats targeted Bengaluru schools last year, all turning out to be false alarms. Even this time, most of the threats are likely hoaxes. However, police officials are conducting extensive searches in all schools that received these emails as a precautionary measure.
