Traffic Challan Concession Date Extended
Vehicle owners in Telangana received welcome news as the new Congress government introduced a substantial discount scheme for clearing pending traffic challans. The initiative, initially set from December 26 to January 10, allowed individuals to settle outstanding challans through a one-time payment. However, the state has extended this relief statewide until January 31, 2024.
To benefit from this offer, owners can access details of their pending e-challans by visiting the website echallan.tspolice.gov.in.
Under this scheme, the government generously offered a 90% discount on the pending challans, requiring individuals to pay only 10% of the original amount, with the remaining 90% waived off. This favorable scheme also applies to RTC (Road Transport Corporation) drivers. For two-wheelers and three-wheelers, an 80% waiver is applicable, while cars, light motor vehicles, trucks, and heavy motor vehicles are eligible for a 60% discount.
This extension provides vehicle owners with further time to avail themselves of this beneficial scheme and clear their pending challans at significantly reduced rates.
