Actress Renu Desai responded to absurd remarks made about her on social media.
Renu Desai, who discovered a YouTube video in which someone disparaged her divorce and personal life, wrote an emotional post on her Instagram to educate social media trolls.
“I just wanted to know what is journalism”, Renu wrote. She further went on, “Is talking about celebrities and their personal lives is journalism?”
Renu Desai referred to movies as a kind of art that can be critiqued, but journalists are not allowed to make fun of celebrities’ private lives.
Renu Desai also pointed at some journalists talking about celebrities in an unempathetic way. “Having a break-up or divorce is not a crime. People who make profit out of others pain is not ethically or morally right or justified”, her post reads.
