Dull Weekend At The Box Office

This February is turning out to be a dull month for Tollywood. None of this week’s releases had a great opening at the box office. Today, a total of eight films hit the screens and all of them had a disappointing opening at the theatres.

Mammootty’s dubbed film Bramayugam, Viva Harsha’s Sundaram Master, Abhinav Gomatam’s Masthu Shades Unnay Ra and Siddharth Roy made little noise ahead of their respective releases but the openings were below-par.

Brahmayugam was a blockbuster in Malayalam and the makers hoped to see the film get big openings in Telugu but that didn’t happen. The reviews are good and it has to be seen if the film picks up in the coming days.

Reviews of the rest of the releases were disappointing. The other films which hit the screens today are Mukhya Gamanika, Ground, Thappinchuku Thiruguvadu Dhanyudu Sumathi and Premalo Iddaru. The results look bleak for all these movies.
