Farmers Plan Big Gathering in Amaravati

On December 17th, in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, farmers are gearing up to host a huge public gathering. This event commemorates the fourth anniversary of the commencement of the Amaravati Protests and is scheduled to take place opposite Acharya Nagarjuna University.

Notably, leaders from the opposition parties have pledged their support for this event. Both TDP Chief Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan are slated to attend the meeting.

The Amaravati Protests originated from farmers who had relinquished their fertile agricultural lands in the Guntur and Krishna districts to the government for the development of Amaravati as the capital. They vehemently oppose the YCP’s proposal to establish three capitals in the state.
