Telangana’s Chief Minister, K. Chandrashekar Rao, is often affectionately referred to as “Dora” due to his family’s landlord background. However, KTR, his son, emphasized that despite the family’s Dora heritage, KCR’s upbringing was marked by financial hardship.
KTR, speaking at an event, shared, “CM KCR garu hails from a rural farming family. His family resided in Chintamadaka, a village situated 140 kilometers away from Hyderabad. My grandparents had 11 children, and my father was the 10th. Despite their Dora status, they faced financial constraints. In those times, owning extensive land was of little benefit in drought-prone Telangana, as it was unsuitable for agriculture. That’s why he was just a namesake Dora”
“Growing up in such a modest family and facing defeat in his first two elections, KCR displayed remarkable resilience and determination, which ultimately led him to his current position,” KTR added.
