TS New Speaker Takes Charge

After a four-day break, the Telangana assembly sessions resumed today, with Protem Speaker Akbaruddin Owaisi announcing the unanimous election of Vikarabad MLA Gaddam Prasad Kumar as the Assembly’s speaker.

Upon taking his oath, Prasad Kumar received well-wishes from Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, TRS working president KT Rama Rao, cabinet ministers, and several other MLAs.

Prasad Kumar stood as the sole nominee for the speaker position. Beyond the ruling party, other parties including BRS, BJP, MIM, and CPI lent their unanimous support to Prasad’s candidacy, resulting in his election as the Speaker of the House.
