TS People Failed To Use Govt’s Offer

Recently, the Telangana Government extended a bumper offer to individuals with outstanding challans, yet despite this, there was a lack of interest among the people in settling their dues.

A discount window for challans was provided from December 26 to January 10, aiming to encourage defaulters to clear their pending dues. However, only a mere 32% of defaulters availed themselves of this opportunity.

Out of a total of 3.59 crore pending challans, just 1.14 crore were settled within this period. This resulted in the government accumulating Rs. 100 crores from the paid challans. Comparatively, in the past, within 45 days, the government amassed Rs. 200 crores when 60% of the challans were paid.
