Nominations for the upcoming Telangana state assembly elections have begun today. Contestants from various parts of the state have started submitting their nominations to the election officials. The official notice, called the Gezit notification, was released this morning.
Candidates have until November 10 to submit their nominations. In the 2018 elections, a total of 2,644 nominations were filed, including candidates from 94 different political parties and independent candidates, across 119 constituencies. This time, the election commission has introduced a new rule requiring candidates to disclose their criminal history in newspapers.
The polling is scheduled for November 30, and the election results will be announced on December 3. Currently, all the candidates are actively engaged in campaigning in their respective constituencies.
