Parliament Elections Bad Luck Continues For BRS

Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s (BRS) defeat in the recently concluded Assembly Elections is affecting the party ahead of the Lok Sabha polls. For the last few weeks, it has been rumoured that sitting BRS MPs and ticket aspirants are looking for Congress and BJP tickets, considering BRS’s poor performance in the assembly polls.

Fuel added to the fire when Peddapalli BRS MP Venkatesh Netha jumped into Congress the other day.

We now hear that Khammam MP Nama Nageswara Rao and Chevella MP Ranjith Reddy may also leave BRS. According to the sources, Nama Nageswara Rao is expecting the ticket from BJP. Due to the Modi wave and the recent Ayodhya Temple inauguration, there are high chances of the BJP winning the Lok Sabha elections.

Maybe that is the reason why Nageswara Rao is planning to shift his base to BJP rather than staying in the power-less BRS. Apparently, Ranjith Reddy also wanted to join the BJP. But the party already has a Lok Sabha candidate in the form of Konda Vishweshwar Reddy in Chevella. Thus, he is expected to join the Congress party, which needs a strong candidate in the constituency.

BRS’s track record in the Lok Sabha elections last time was disappointing, even though it was in the government in 2019.

It just won nine seats out of 17. Now, with no power in hand and incumbent MPs planning to shift to other parties, BRS chances look bleak even before the election schedule is out.
