King Nagarjuna sheds light on his inclination towards the upcoming movie ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ and his choices regarding the film’s title, as well as choosing Vijay Binni as the director.
When queried about his attraction to the ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ storyline, Nagarjuna expressed, “I was captivated by all its elements—friendship, love, sacrifice, and faith. It’s a wonderful narrative filled with human emotions.” Regarding the title ‘My Saami Ranga,’ he explained, “The title is inspired by a song that featured in Nanna Garu ANR’s movie. It perfectly complements our story, resonating at various points in the movie.”
Nagarjuna hasn’t denied that they have based the film on a Malayalam movie, but adds, “This film is not a remake, but we took only important four characters and elements from that flick, and completely stylised with Telugu nativity. In the original there is no festival, but here the film is weaved around the three days of Sankranthi. And the change we made in the climax is going to leave you awestruck”.
Directed by debutant director Vijay Binni and produced by Srinivasa Chitturi, ‘Naa Saami Ranga’ is a massy Sankranthi movie that promises to be a captivating watch. About Vijay, the star hero added, “As a choreographer, he carved out songs that have montages with short stories. That made me pick him up as a director and he has done a fabulous job with his clarity of thought”.
