Arrest Prakash Raj! Actor In Trouble After Chandrayaan Success

After the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 when the whole nation rejoiced and celebrated, actor Prakash Raj found himself in trouble for a post he made on the 20th of August. People perceived his cartoon post to be ‘mocking’ the Indian moon mission. After the post, #arrestprakashraj has been trending on X. A police complaint has been lodged against the actor in the Bagalkote district of Karnataka.

Prakash Raj posted the photo of a man wearing lungi and vest and serving tea at the moon. He captioned the post ‘Breaking News- first picture coming from the moon’. People have found this post offensive and an insult to ISRO. Many X users are calling him out as an ‘anti-national’.

Prakash Raj has been in controversy before as well for his social media posts. People are complaining that his hatred towards the government makes him blind to the nation’s achievements.

Amidst this backlash, the context of his post is completely lost. The joke template used by Prakash Raj is a very old one that is based on the rumour that the malayali community is present everywhere. There was a joke that when Neil Armstrong landed on the moon, he was served tea by a Malayali there.

However, people have failed to understand the context of his post and thrashed him on social media. It makes it quite evident how careful one should be making jokes about in this country.
