A shocking case of suicide was reported in Bettiah, Bihar, on Thursday night when a teenage girl ended her life after an argument with her brother. The incident has raised concerns over family disputes and communication with adolescents.
Police said the girl was chatting on Instagram late at night when her brother objected and slapped her in anger. Hurt by the incident, she locked herself in her room and took the extreme step soon after.
Family members discovered her quickly but she could not be saved. The police were alerted, and her body was sent for post-mortem. Statements from relatives have been recorded and further inquiry is in progress.
