A disturbing incident has emerged from Chennai where a mother allegedly drugged her 20 year old daughter with sleeping pills and allowed her boyfriend to rape her. Police said the family lived in Saligramam. The father works as a watchman and reportedly visits home only once a week.
According to investigators, the woman began an extramarital relationship during her husband’s absence. She allegedly invited her boyfriend home frequently. The daughter objected to her mother’s behaviour and warned her repeatedly. When her concerns were ignored, she stopped speaking to her.
Police said the situation escalated last month on the 3rd when the daughter felt unwell. The mother allegedly gave her sleeping pills and called her boyfriend home. The man is accused of raping the unconscious young woman. The incident left the victim traumatised.
On the 23rd, the daughter reportedly fell ill again. Investigators allege that the mother repeated the act by administering sleeping pills and inviting her boyfriend. This time, the young woman woke up during the assault and screamed. The mother allegedly threatened her and locked her inside a room.
The victim later managed to escape and fled to a relative’s house in Tiruvannamalai. She shared details of the alleged abuse with her family. As she was suffering from severe stomach pain, they rushed her to a hospital. Doctors reportedly confirmed that she was pregnant due to the assaults.
The relatives then filed a complaint at the Seyyaru women’s police station against the mother and her 50 year old boyfriend, Dakshinamurthy. As the crime occurred in Vadapalani, the case was transferred to the Vadapalani All Women Police Station. On Sunday, police registered a case and began a full investigation.
