Counterfeit Dandiya Tickets: A ‘Farzi’ Inspiration

If you have seen the popular Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi series “Farzi,” you must be aware of how these guys were experts at creating counterfeit notes. A similar incident happened this Navratri, but not for fake money, but for fake Dandiya tickets.

The incident took place in Mumbai, where a graphic designer named Karan Shah, who is an expert in the art of designing, did something we have often seen in movies. The counterfeits were done with precision, making it very difficult to differentiate between a real ticket and a fake one.

The man planned to sell each ticket for the price of 2600, while the original price ranged between 3000 to 3800. He had already produced more than a thousand passes and was expecting to earn around 30 lakhs with this technique.

The local police in Borivali were somehow aware of the situation that there could be fake passes as well. Therefore, when they thoroughly investigated, they found out that some of these passes were fake. After tracking down the sources, the police finally caught Shah, who was also being assisted by three others in this scheme.

Upon investigation, Karan Shah admitted that he was inspired by the “Farzi” web series and wanted to earn a good sum of money in a short time.
