Deathly Plan for Economic Growth at Ola

Long working hours can increase several diseases, like being overweight, prediabetes, and Type 2 diabetes etc. Also, it can also contribute to hating the job you are doing if you work long hours such as 70 to 80 hours a week.

In 2023, Narayan Murthy had said that if India wants to compete with developed economies that have made remarkable progress in recent decades, youngsters should work for 70 hours a week.

And, Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal, totally agrees with this statement saying he is “Fully in Sync”.

The doctor has said that “working 55 or more hours per week is associated with a 35% higher risk of a stroke and a 17% higher risk of dying from ischemic heart disease, compared to working 35-40 hours a week”.

Doctors also added, “55 hours a week of work, kills more than 8,00,000 people every year”.

In the name of economic development if we kill the employees then who will bear the flag of economically stable India.

After working such long hours employees won’t have any personal life so that they can relax and go to the office the next day and work again.

In the office of Google they have game rooms so that the employees are never bored with their work.

Such long working hours can lead to several mental health disorders as well, leading to a much risky situation.

Disorders like Depression, Anxiety come from overworking and not giving enough time to yourself.

Economic growth is going to happen, one way or the other but if that costs several lives that will be a heavy situation to deal with.
