Tilak to Gomutra: Shocking Rules for Garba Pandals

In Maharashtra, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has announced new rules for garba pandals. As per the guidelines, only Hindus can enter, and visitors must follow specific practices before joining the celebration.

Participants must put tilak on their forehead, tie a red moli on their hand, perform a brief worship of the goddess, and get sprayed with gomutra. According to VHP, these measures are meant to maintain purity and protect the religious spirit of the event.

The decision has sparked debate. Some people support the move, saying festivals should strictly follow their traditions. Others argue that everyone should have the freedom to participate and enjoy the cultural celebrations without restrictions.

Experts warn that such rules could create divisions in society. They advise that while preserving traditions is important, communities should also encourage inclusivity and mutual respect to keep festivals harmonious.

Garba has always been seen as a festival of joy and unity. People hope that future celebrations will remain safe, peaceful, and welcoming for all, without compromising cultural or spiritual values.
