Horrifying Visuals From Himachal!

When temperature soars in the plains, people start looking for the nearest getaway and more often their first choice is cities like Shimla and Manali. However, such places can be extremely dangerous particularly this time of year because of heavy rains. A viral video shows a horrific incident of landslide amidst heavy rain in Shimla that caused widespread loss and damage. Many trees can be seen falling on parked cars while people are screaming in the background.

Heavy rains have caused massive destruction and loss in the state of Himachal Pradesh. Events of cloudburst and landslides have increased in the past few days. A total of at least 29 people have lost their lives so far in incidents related to rainfall and landslides. Some are feared to be trapped under debris. The weather department has issued yellow alert in many districts of the state for Monday and Tuesday.

The weather has caused closure of a total of 621 roads in the state. Schools and colleges have also been closed till Monday. People are complaining that the landslides are the result of rampant development projects in the region. They say that many roads have been widened to boost tourism by blasting and cutting trees. The ecological toll of it can be felt by the whole state at the moment.
