Mamta Kulkarni is well known for her career in Bollywood in the 90s. Many of her hit projects included Karan Arjun, Naseeb, Baazi, Tirangaa etc.
Fans were shocked when during the Maha Kumbh coverage it was revealed that she is going to become the Mahamandaleshwar of the Kinnar Akhara. Many people found out that she is now a saadhvi and has joined a religious order after leaving acting.
However, many doubted her claims of asceticism and authenticity of the title given to her by Kinnar Akhara. Much scrutiny surrounded her taking such a high order without any real hardships.
She has now come in news again for resigning from the position of Mahamandaleshwar. She stated that she has been practicing 25 years of penance but all the scrutiny made her realise that it’s better to get away from the negativity.
She also revealed how several Mahamandaleshwars and Jagadgurus even demanded 2 lakhs from her. She stated ego and greed has taken over the world, but to her these things don’t matter.
