Matrimonial Fraud Hits Hyd: Beware of Fake Love?

In today’s fast-paced life, everyone wants a real partner who understands them and makes life better. To find one, many of you turn to matrimonial websites, assuming they are safe and filled with genuine profiles. But that trust often breaks.

A man from Malakpet, Hyderabad, recently became a victim of a matrimonial fraud. He met a woman on one such site. She seemed polite, spoke warmly, and said she was serious about marriage.

Soon, she told him her mother was unwell and asked for money to manage travel and paperwork. Believing her story, he transferred around Rs 6.5 lakh in several transactions.

After receiving the money, she stopped answering his calls. Her profile vanished from the site, and he realised he had been cheated.

The victim then filed a police complaint. Officials confirmed that such online scams are rising and warned you not to share personal details or send money to anyone you haven’t met face-to-face.
