Indian Mom Beats Up Officials In Singapore

It is said that a mother would go to any extent to protect their child. An Indian origin woman in Singapore just demonstrated how far by beating up government officials in order to save her son from the mandatory National Service(NS) in Singapore. The woman was found guilty of voluntarily causing hurt to a public servant and got served an 18 months jail sentence.

In Singapore, it is mandatory for all young males to serve in the armed forces as part of National Service. But the accused’s son failed to report for it following which officials went to her home to inquire.

The woman claimed during the trial that her son was not fit for National Service and even denied hurting any official. However, there’s video evidence of the incident because of the body-cam worn by the official.

The woman received numerous warnings but she persistently assaulted the official. The victim was grabbed and pulled several times during the offense. It was highlighted during the trial that the woman never explained her behavior and neither apologized for it.
