In Ahmedabad, a woman tried to rob a jewellery shop but got caught red-handed. She entered pretending to be a customer and asked the jeweller to show her ornaments before attacking him with chilli powder.
Despite burning eyes, the jeweller fought back and stopped her from escaping. In shock and anger, he slapped her 17 times in 16 seconds before others in the area rushed in to help.
People from nearby shops quickly surrounded the woman and held her until the police arrived. Officers later discovered that she had planned the robbery in advance and carried chilli powder in her bag for the attack.
The woman was taken into custody, and police are investigating whether she had any accomplices. The video of the incident spread fast across the city, drawing widespread attention online.
Many praised the jeweller’s courage and alertness. Police have urged shop owners to stay vigilant, keep CCTV cameras active, and avoid showing expensive ornaments to unknown visitors alone.
