Media Reports are coming in that Telangana Cyber Security Bureau had arrested the Controversial Youtuber Praneeth Hanumanthu in Bengaluru. He is being shifted to Hyderabad shortly.
In a YouTube show, Praneeth and some others gave a sexual color to a father-daughter relationship. They are quite disgusting and the entire social media lashed at him for the Pedophile comments. The YouTuber had apologized but it was proved that it is not a one-off incident and he is a repeat offender.
He tried to defend it saying that his comment was taken out of context and that he was only trying to create humor.
The incident became Mainstream after actor Sai Dharam Tej posted a message on X bringing it to the notice of the Telangana Chief Minister. Revanth Reddy immediately responded promising action.
Several other celebrities also posted about the incident putting pressure on the Government.
Telangana DGP also responded later and finally, that showed the result.
The arrest credit should be totally social media. People did not relent and continuously put pressure on everyone from actors to politicians and it worked.
While many blame social media for several things, this is the real power of social media when channeled in the right direction.
