Great emotions are attached to the phrase ‘I Love You’. Films have made it all rosy and glorified the concept. While I Love You is a universal feeling that can be expressed to anyone and everyone, the repercussions of saying it in present times has made it a taboo.
However, in its latest ruling, Chattisgarh High Court has passed a judgement saying that simply saying ‘I love you’ is not a crime. The case involved a young boy saying I love you to a 15-year-old girl.
The boy was booked under serious charges. The Court said that merely saying I love you was not criminal if no wrong acts were committed. The judge said it comes under freedom of speech under Article 19 of Indian Constitution.
This ruling gives relief to youngsters and gives them the freedom of expressing their feelings.
Just a few days back, the Bombay High Court gave a similar ruling.
