WT20: Afghanistan Creates History! Australia Eliminated

It rarely happens that you wake up on a Tuesday morning and find millions of eyes already glued to the TV screen. It wasn’t any sporting event final in which India was involved but a regular match in the T20 world cup between Bangladesh and Afghanistan. So what was so special about it that fans from India, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Australia, all had their eyes on it?

The stake of the match was high and it was going to decide which team makes it to the semifinals alongwith India. Technically all other three teams had a chance to qualify. The suspense of qualification translated into a very high intensity match that was nothing short of a rollercoaster.

This win is celebrated not just in Afghanistan but equally in India as well. This is because it resulted in the elimination of Australia. The World Cup winners faced a humiliating defeat against Afghanistan which became the ultimate reason for their elimination.
