Tech Job Crisis: New Hires Fired Overnight

Bengaluru has been the centre of yet another shocking news, this time belonging to the glamour of the tech world.

A techie from the city recently took to Reddit to share his plight regarding his shattered professional life. Writing with emotions, the techie shared that he and his whole team were abruptly fired from the company that they had recently joined.

This happened due to a loss of interest on the part of the investor, as well as ‘poor’ target achievement, at least according to the company.

Despite targeting the non-performers, the company decided to ditch the whole team, leading to several terminations without any prior warnings.

It is now almost every day that news like this makes the rounds of the Indian social media. Job security has become a thing of the past, and companies nowadays just look to maximise their profits without thinking twice about the consequences.

This will ultimately harm the Indian tech industry in the long run, as employees will seldom try to give their best to the job, knowing very well that their employment could end any hour of the day.

The authorities must step into this as soon as possible, constructing a proper framework to find a reasonable middle ground between efficiency and employee rights.
