Ullu App Owner Launches Devotional OTT Platform

Ullu fame Vibhu Agarwal is launching a devotional OTT platform, Hari Om. It aims to offer a unique hub for Indian heritage with a vast collection of mythological content. It will feature over 20 shows and is expected to launch in June 2024.

This unique OTT platform offers a ‘U’ rated series for seniors, children, and young adults. It will also feature bhajans in video and audio.

Vibhu Agarwal launched platforms like Ullu and Atrangii which offer semi-porn content.

It’s quite shocking that Vibhu Agarwal, the man behind semi-porn OTT platforms, is launching a devotional OTT. He has some criminal cases against him for promoting adult content and corrupting young minds in the country. So he might have thought to float a family-friendly OTT on Indian heritage to compensate.

First of all, such content is suitable for television and not on OTT. People consume such content on satellite channels. If someone needs to watch more of such family-friendly stuff then a lot of content is freely available on YouTube. No one would be ready to pay for a subscription to watch such content on OTT.

We have recently seen how The Kapil Sharma show flopped so badly on Netflix that they had to stop after shooting 5 episodes due to poor response. That show was suited for TV audiences and not for OTT.

Will Hari Om find its niche and thrive in the competitive world of OTT platforms? It’s difficult.
