Viral Maggi Video in Train: Clever or Criminal Offence?

A viral video showing a woman cooking Maggi inside a train has triggered a safety debate. Train journeys often inspire small acts of creativity, but this incident has raised questions about where to draw the line between comfort and risky behaviour.

The clip shows the woman preparing noodles inside a compartment using a portable heating method. Some viewers saw it as a simple attempt to make a warm meal, while others pointed out that such cooking methods are not allowed on trains because they can pose fire and electrical hazards.

Central Railway shared the video and said using an electronic kettle inside trains is unsafe, illegal and a punishable offence. They stated that such devices can start fire accidents, disturb other passengers and disrupt the train’s electrical systems.

Indian Railways clearly prohibits cooking inside coaches for safety and hygiene reasons. That responsibility belongs to pantry cars and IRCTC catering services. The woman’s act has now started a wider discussion about responsibility while travelling.

Officials have begun action against the channel and the person involved. The video serves as a reminder that personal convenience must never override public safety on trains.
