The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy has been postponed due to the Ahmedabad plane crash.

The launch was scheduled for June 14 at Lord’s during the World Test Championship Final.
But after the Air India flight AI-171 crash which killed over 275 people, the BCCI and ECB decided not to go ahead with the event for now.
A senior ECB official said the ceremony will be held later, at a better time.
The new trophy is named after James Anderson and Sachin Tendulkar, two legends of the game.
It was supposed to replace the Pataudi Trophy which was awarded for India-England Test series in England since 2007. Both Anderson and Tendulkar were to attend the launch.
Even though the trophy’s name is changing, the legacy of MAK Pataudi may continue.
The ECB is planning to bring in a Pataudi medallion which will be given to the winning captain. So the old connection won’t be lost.
Cricket once again showed why it’s more than just a game. In tough times it knows how to show respect. The Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy can wait — lives matter more.
