Ever since BCCI appointed Suryakumar Yadav as the captain of the Indian team for the upcoming T20 series, there has been a range of reaction from the fans who were taken by surprise by the decision. There are many fans who believe it’s for the good and many who feel that Hardik Pandya has been betrayed.
During the T20 World Cup, Hardik Pandya served as the deputy to Rohit Sharma and he also led the team last year before he got injured. It was believed that he might get the responsibility once Rohit steps down keeping in mind his record in the IPL as a captain as well.
The BCCI didn’t feel the same as the fans and decided Surya is the better pick. Although it is believed that the board made this decision because it feels that the players are much more comfortable with Surya as captain.
Some fans are doubtful of this opportunity as Suryakumar has not yet proved his captaincy prowess on the big stage. Hardik Pandya has performed very well individually as a player and that is the reason why some fans believe he deserved it better.
