Ignored Talent Shines Bright: GG’s Bias Exposed?

Akash Deep has almost proven himself to be a wicket-taking bowler when it comes to red ball cricket.

His recent performance in the 2nd test match against England has ensured that India maintain their status quo in the series, crushing the impact of the first English victory.

With him taking five wickets even in such a flat pitch, it becomes almost a necessity to ask why he isn’t included in the core part of the team.

Gambhir’s decision to continuously favour Harshit Rana over any other potential bowler has proven to be costly for India many times.

With Gambhir now finally giving Akash Deep the chance he rightfully deserves, the young Indian pacer has shone, and rightfully so.

With the 3rd test match at Lord’s now just a few days away, it will be interesting to see if the management backs Akash Deep for the big game, or does he once again get benched due to another one of GG’s supposed masterstrokes.
