Saudi Travel Boost: Low-Cost Airline Enters India

Saudi Arabia’s budget airline Flyadeal will begin direct flights to India in early 2026, starting with the Jeddah–Mumbai route. The airline plans to connect up to six Indian cities by the end of 2026, targeting business, leisure, and religious travellers.

Expansion Plans and Fleet Growth

Flyadeal operates 42 Airbus A320 family aircraft and expects to grow its fleet to 46 by late 2025. It has ordered ten Airbus A330neo widebody aircraft, arriving from mid-2027. This move signals Flyadeal’s goal to expand into longer international routes.

Focus on India and New Routes

The first route, Jeddah–Mumbai, will soon be followed by flights to Delhi and other major Indian cities. Flyadeal also plans to serve Hajj and Umrah passengers through connections from Jeddah, Riyadh, Dammam, and possibly Medina.

Partnerships and Connectivity

To strengthen its network, Flyadeal is exploring codeshare partnerships with Indian airlines. These tie-ups will give you smoother travel connections between India and Saudi Arabia, making regional travel faster and more convenient.

India’s Aviation Growth and Competition

India remains one of the fastest-growing aviation markets, led by low-cost carriers like IndiGo and Akasa Air. Flyadeal aims to tap into the growing demand from the Indian diaspora and increasing religious and business travel.

Aligned with Saudi Vision 2030

The new routes align with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 plan to expand tourism and regional air links. Flyadeal’s India entry is expected to boost competition and connectivity across the India–Saudi Arabia travel corridor.
