The Indian cricket team is set to undergo its biggest makeover in the recent years with Gautam Gambhir being announced as the head coach of the side for all three formats.
With the announcement of Gambhir, there comes skepticism on the future of several players. But incidentally, Gambhir still decided to continue Shivam Dubey and Washington Sundar in the side despite the obvious shortcomings.
At the same time, Gambhir shockingly sidelined Abhishek Sharma who is a gun player for the side.
Abhishek played outrageously well for SRH in the IPL and he perfectly suits the aggressive mindset of Gambhir. He is the kind of player that can give India explosive starts.
However, shockingly Sharma was sidelined from the squad in Gambhir’s era as the head coach.
Even Ruturaj Gaikwad has been sidelined from the plans but that’s understandable considering that he is just an anchor player. But Abhishek is packed with intent and deserved a place.
Jadeja also appears to have been shown the exit door as he is excluded from the ODI plans.
